Classroom Assistants provide support in youth art education courses to both the instructors and the students. This position requires a desire to work with children ages 5-12 in creating art projects. Teacher assistance may include setup of project materials and classroom cleanup. Hours worked are generally late afternoons on specific weekdays for approximately 2 hours. This role is also expanded to help prepare for classes and maintain classroom spaces outside of actual teaching hours. These hours are more flexible and students can work with their schedules during our in-office time 11-5 Tuesday-Friday to assist in this role. An interest in the visual arts is preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands: Students are frequently required to sit and walk, speak with and listen to young children, and be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
This is a Federal Work Study position that pays $12/hour, approximately 4-6 hours per week
