Who We Are

A nonprofit organization founded on Quaker values, we offer older people a vibrant, diverse, caring community, encouraging individual lifestyles by promoting independence, continuing learning, civic involvement with the wider community, social relationships and excellence in health care.

Today, Kendal at Oberlin serves about 325 residents and is a hub of activity for older adults throughout the community of Oberlin. Residents have moved here from 34 states and the District of Columbia. Kendal strives to serve the greater community as well, with fitness center classes open to community members, the Kendal Early Learning Center, and programs like Senior Independence and Kendal at Home. So the vision of those early founders to create a “world class retirement community in Oberlin” certainly seems to have been fulfilled.

What We Do

Kendal at Oberlin is a non-for-profit retirement continuing care retirement community.  The StephensCareCenter caters to residents who have assisted living and skilled nursing care needs.  We are located at the corner of North Pleasant and Maple Street (north of the OberlinHigh School)
