Volunteer: Theatre Teaching Assistant (Paid Position)Only Federal Work-Study eligible students may apply to this position. The MAD* Factory is looking for enthusiastic students to assist our lead teachers with basic acting/singing classes for kids ages 5 through 18. Candidates would preferably have a background in either working with youth, theater, or both, although it's not required as long as candidates are energetic and eager to participate. Teaching Assistants help to lead students in putting on a production of a Junior musical for performance. They should be comfortable working with and being friendly toward children, ideally have participated in youth theater musicals before or at least have worked with children before. Main duties include leading the students in stretches and warmups, leading small groups in acting exercises or arts and crafts, being bathroom monitors, and helping with setup and cleanup. Ideally Teaching Assistants will be available to work the performances of the musical, usually in mid-December and mid-May, on a weekend. This is a Federal Work Study position that pays $12/hour.
