Pantry/Warehouse Intern- $12/hr This is a paid, work-study position with Oberlin Community Services. Oberlin Community Services is a responsive community organization that provides direct assistance, referrals, outreach services and educational support to Oberlin, New Russia Township, and southern Lorain County residents who seek help meeting basic needs. Students can work 3-12 hours per week for the duration of Fall and Spring semesters. Shifts are 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-5pm Mondays- Friday. The position entails staffing our warehouse and food pantry, greeting constituents, and maintaining stocking levels for our outdoor, drive-up pantry. This work is absolutely essential to OCS' day-to-day functioning. Ideally, candidates could commit to at least two semesters working with us. Applicants should be prepared to work with community members without judgement, be able to keep composure in stressful situations, multitask well, have good communication skills, and be dependable and on time. Other, optional tasks involve: participation in monthly free food distributions; volunteer work in our warehouse and pantry; other organizational food and environmental projects.
