The Oberlin Heritage Center is seeking a student to assist with the creation of reproduction historical costumes for staff and volunteers to wear while presenting living history programs to visitors of all ages. The Winter Term student will work with volunteers and staff to research period clothing, obtain patterns for the museum’s personal use and collection, and make historically accurate, functional clothing.

Applicants should have some sewing experience and ideally have access to his/her/their own equipment or be able to obtain tools necessary for the project. Majority of work can be done away from OHC’s office and outside of the museum’s normal operating hours. Students will gain experience in living history programming, non-profit museum work, period clothing history and creation, and research skills.
