Blanket Making for Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland

Description

Need a break from class? Want to engage in service, but can't get off campus? Looking for a creative outlet?

Stop by the Bonner Center and make a blanket for the Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland! All semester long, the Bonner Center will have no-sew blanket making materials and instructions available. Blankets will be donated to the Diaper Bank where they are being used as part of a welcome kit for families with newborns in the greater Cleveland area.

Why does this matter? Nearly half of families in America struggle with diaper need, meaning that they do not have access to enough diapers to maintain healthy sanitation for their babies. Neither the SNAP, nor WIC resources can be used to purchase diapers - a basic necessity for young children. A newborn baby requires 8 to 12 diapers a day. The work of the Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland meets the direct need of caregivers while also providing other basic needs such as menstrual supplies. They also collaborate with other nonprofits and resources centers to help families receive other forms of necessary care.

Drop in when the Bonner Center is open - Monday-Friday 8:30 - 5:00.
