Volunteer: FAVA VolunteersWe are seeking volunteers in multiple areas of the FAVA organization. Volunteers are needed to greet visitors and monitor FAVA’s exhibit galleries. Volunteers will be trained with knowledge of current and upcoming exhibits to help answer visitor questions and to respond to phone inquiries. Volunteers are also needed for light cleaning in gallery and classroom areas to keep the areas tidy and welcoming. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist with other office duties including filing, mailing, data entry and other miscellaneous tasks to help keep the organization running smoothly.This is an unpaid volunteer position. We greatly appreciate our volunteers and all that they do for FAVA and the community.

Volunteer: BLOOM MentorOur fundraising cohort is run by a group of students who work all-year round to host fundraising events on campus at Oberlin College to raise funds for our ECVI Fund. The ECVI Fund is money the fundraising cohort raised. The ECVI Fund is used to support our participants with their financial needs to achieve their goals. Currently, the funds are used to pay for our participant's $765 Civics exam and provide our BLOOM students with a $500 book scholarship that they can use to buy books and materials for classes. You can be involved in many areas from trapping, to cleaning, to transporting, to fundraising, to entertaining kittens during play time. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization. There are no paid staff. Volunteers put the "community" in Community Action to Save Strays! Cleaning: Volunteers clean and sterilize cages, scoop litter, sweep and vacuum holding areas, do laundry, and wash dishes. It is crucial that we provide cats in our care with a clean environment! Secretarial Tasks: Volunteers answer the phone, research and write policies and procedures, organize data and records, research and write grants, and keep financial records. High-Mobility Tasks: Volunteers trap feral cats in various areas of Oberlin and transport cats to vet appointments or adoption areas. Access and ability to drive a vehicle are most helpful for these tasks. Socializing: Volunteers cuddle and play with semi-feral cats and kittens in order to help them be adoptable.
